Ferocious Few return to Amnesia on Friday

Though they no longer call the Bay their home (boo!), Ferocious Few are back on the road and playing a hometown date at Amnesia this Friday. Ferocious Few could not have a more appropriate name—currently comprised of Bay native Francisco Fernandez and drummer Jessamyn Cuneo, the band is a snarling, seething whirlwind of punk rock and good ol'-fashioned country and western that goes good with a cold beer and dim lighting. But you don't need us to tell you that—you're likely already aware of them, and have been for years. These two have been kicking ass at the local level [...]

Noise Pop Review: The Stone Foxes, Voxhaul Broadcast, Ferocious Few, The Soft White Sixties @ The Independent 2/24/11

Photos by: Agata Kamler I've seen the Ferocious Few more time than I care to count. I've seen them in parks, on street corners, at raucous outdoor festivals. I saw them play in the middle of a packed street during a joyous near-riot the night Obama was elected. I've seen them so regularly that I once recognized their guitarist on an airplane. This may be the only local band at their level I've seen often enough to pick out of crowd whose members I didn't know personally (I'm terrible with faces). Yet, I've never seen them indoors or gone out [...]

Ferocious Few, Can’t Find a Villain, Monbon @ Elbo Room Wed.

This Wednesday head on out to the Mission and check out a very diverse line-up over at the Elbo Room on the cheap (8pm, 5), including one of the city's most hard-working bands. The Ferocious Few will be kicking things off in style with their two-man blues rock jams. There will be two more opportunities to catch them doing what they do best before SXSW: later this month at the Rickshaw (Jan. 27) and at Bottom of the Hill (Feb. 8) -- see their MySpace for show details. The Ferocious Few - "Lord Save My Soul" Monbon's up [...]

The Ferocious Few at Bottom of the Hill

SF Station - The Ferocious Few from Fenny Kuo on Vimeo. It was smart to show up early to The Blacks' CD release/breakup show last month, as I got my first chance to see The Ferocious Few, a San Francisco duo who immediately won me over with their energetic bluesy rock and roll. In one of those sleights of hand so common with stripped-down music, the band's performances come off as effortlessly fun and rocking, but there's a method to the chaos that betrays real tight musicianship too. They released an EP a couple of years ago, and the rumor [...]
