Photos: Down and Outlaws celebrate album release at Great American Music Hall

Down and Outlaws (photo: Jon Ching) Words by Jon Ching Local blues rockers, the Down and Outlaws, played the Great American Music Hall last Friday, July 8th, releasing their new album, Above Snakes.  Not only is this a new album for the San Francisco band, it's their debut LP.  Their performance was high energy, foot-stomping rock n' roll played tight and well executed.  Though this is the band's first album, they are seasoned live performers and treated the crowd to a great set with their amps turned up to 11.  It was the perfect way to blow off the week's steam and gear [...]

Plenty of younger bands populate this month's set of concert picks, but May's highlights include a significant number of indie veterans. Take the Atlanta trio pictured above, The Coathangers, whose fifth album may be the group's best yet. Local vets Rogue Wave returned last month after a three year break between records with their sixth LP, Delusions of Grand Fur, while the new LP from former [...]

Down and Outlaws release live video for “All Is Well”

Down and Outlaws have redefined what it means to play rock n' roll in 2016. And it's awesome. Their newest track, "All Is Well," was recorded as part of the Converse Rubber Tracks sessions that recently took over local studio Different Fur. The version in the video below comes from a live performance at the BlindBlindTiger Speakeasy in Los Angeles. It's fast, heavy, and headed by an addicting guitar riff that gets you moving. Be sure to check out those great green screen visuals in the background of buildings being demolished. https://youtu.be/dvo9myQ3bug The Y Axes, Down and Outlaws, Lords of Sealand The [...]

Interview & Giveaway: Get to know artist collective Our House and their upcoming Gothic Luau

Dust off your ugly floral shirts and your darkest eyeliner: Our House is back with a second installment of their doubly-themed post-Halloween dance party, Gothic Luau, featuring a reunion from headliners Jeffertitti's Nile, and great locals Down and Outlaws and Everyone is Dirty. The Our House artist collective has only been putting on shows for a little more than a year, but they're as prolific as they are full of ideas. We chatted with one third of the collective, Bay Bridged contributor Lauren Espina, about their beginnings, the silly story of how the Gothic Luau came to be, and, most importantly, [...]

Video Premiere: Down and Outlaws – “I Don’t Care (I Don’t Care)”

Down and Outlaws are back with a new music video for their latest single, “I Don't Care (I Don't Care)” (which we premiered last week). The true rock n’ roll band has brought a visual component to the fist-pumping, chorus-singing, head-bobbing single. Directed by Dylan Ozanich, the video follows a bear (okay, a man in a bear costume) as he goes through the motions of his day. Waking up in the morning, getting ready, being yelled at by his boss, getting in an argument with his girlfriend, etc. Then, sporting some new pissed-off looking eyebrows, he goes rogue, stealing booze [...]
