Diarrhea Planet dedicates end of fall tour to West Coast

Since forming six years ago in a Nashville garage, six piece punk rockers Diarrhea Planet have honed their sound, which is self-described "pop through a heavy metal filter," and plan on closing their 38-show tour with a heavy presence in California. The week of November 14, singer-guitarists Jordan Smith, Emmett Miller, Brent Toler, guitarist Evan Bird, bassist Mike Boyle, and drummer Ian Bush, the newest member of the band, will make their way from Halloween celebrations in England to the left coast for shows in Santa Cruz and San Francisco before wrapping up in Sacramento and Crystal Bay, NV. múm Ben: The new múm album, Smilewound, has a lot to offer fans of electroacoustic indie pop, but there's something about "The Colorful Stabwound" that has me listening to it on repeat this week. The rolling percussion has a propulsive snap, the instrumentation is relatively minimal, but every piece fits together like some sort of obtuse puzzle, and the vocals, to the extent they're present, hint elusively at regret.
