Foals (photo: Brittany O'Brien) Veterans and rising rock bands gathered last Friday, December 11, 2015, to perform at Oracle Arena as part of Live 105's annual Christmas festival Not So Silent Night. The set times were tight with a rotating page, meaning that more bands than ever in the show's history could take to the stage in one night of music. Photographer Peter Ellenby Debuts New Exhibition at Noise Pop 2012: 15 Years of Death Cab for Cutie and John Vanderslice, in Photos
Photographer Peter Ellenby has been taking portraits of Death Cab for Cutie and John Vanderslice for over 15 years. Now as part of Noise Pop's 20th Anniversary, Ellenby's photo exhibit DC/VJ will be on display, featuring portraits depicting the progression of the musicians' celebrated careers as well as Ellenby's own stylistic progression. DC/JV will be housed at sponsor San Franpsycho's offices located at 1314 Grant (between Vallejo and Green). Two days ago, Death Cab for Cutie announced a unique addition to their upcoming tour: members of San Francisco's own Magik*Magik Orchestra will accompany the band on stage as they tour various North American cities. As Minna Choi discussed with us back in June, the Magik*Magik Orchestra has a celebrated ability to pair effervescently with rock bands, bringing bands' performances to entirely new levels.
