Just announced: Dean Wareham plays Galaxie 500 at the Hemlock Tavern

During their brief four-year run, the much-adored Galaxie 500 pioneered a dynamic, Velvets-updating dream pop sound, traces of which can be heard in new bands over two decades later. The good folks at the Hemlock Tavern just announced two May 11th shows featuring Dean Wareham performing Galaxie 500 songs in the Hemlock's intimate room. Wareham will be accompanied by Britta Phillips and Anthony LaMarca for both sets (7:30pm, 10:30pm, $20, 21+), which are on sale right now. Dean & Britta Perform Over Andy Warhol’s Screen Tests Tomorrow

There's a unique event going on at the San Francisco Film Society tomorrow, Feb. 8 at the Palace of Fine Arts. New York band Dean & Britta will be performing mostly original music for 13 Most Beautiful...Songs for Andy Warhol's Screen Tests, a traveling project presented by the Andy Warhol Museum and the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust.
