David Bazan announces Christmas album, mini-tour stop at Swedish American Hall

Earlier this month, to commemorate the birthday of John Lennon, Seattle singer-songwriter David Bazan shared a cover of Lennon and Yoko Ono's "Happy Xmas (War Is Over)" and announced the November 11 release of Dark Sacred Night, a collection of Christmas singles. The collection, spanning timeless classics, contemporary ironies, and even deep prodding originals, comes out of an apparent underrepresentation of the uncomfortableness that surrounds the holiday season for people. Bazan was approached in 2002 by his label, Suicide Squeeze Records, about recording a 7" of Christmas carols.
