BAGeL Radio hosting 10th Birthday Party with Mister Loveless, Churches, and Birdmonster on 2/1/13
BAGeL Radio is moving into double digits, and the man behind the vision, Ted Leibowitz, is throwing one helluva party. The host of the Glen Park-based indie rock Internet radio show recruited three great Bay Area acts – Mister Loveless, Churches, and Birdmonster – to help celebrate his baby's tenth birthday at Bottom of the Hill on Friday, February 1st. The show is being produced in conjunction with SomaFM, the "listener-supported, commercial-free, underground/alternative" Internet radio station that broadcasts BAGeL Radio along with nearly 20 other unique stations. Admitting in a Facebook post that he booked "a far better lineup" than [...]
Churches releasing 'Lovelife' 7", celebrating at Bottom of the Hill, 12/22/12
Churches plans to drop its second record, a 7" entitled Lovelife, on December 11th, and the trio is celebrating with a gig at Bottom of the Hill on the 22nd. The new release's title track is band member Caleb Nichols' statement of "frustration at having his personal life and the personal lives of all LGBT people constantly subject to public debate." He first recorded the song's melody to his phone when it popped into his head while he sat alone in his car, but the lyrics, which keep with the band's recurring theme of small-town teenage alienation, came later. An [...]

Take a listen here on The Bay Bridged: WATERS - "If Only" "If Only" is also available now on iTunes, and don't forget that WATERS is on tour now with Nada Surf, before they return home for a tour-ending gig at Brick and Mortar on [...]

Live This Month: January 2012 (Podcast #268) In Live This Month, we sample some of the great local and out-of-town bands performing in the coming month in the San Francisco Bay Area.
