Chris Forsyth leads Philly takover of the Hemlock on Thursday

Philadelphia-based pysch guitar virtuoso Chris Forsyth is returning to San Francisco for the first time in more than a year, and he's bringing along some friends with close ties to the City of Brotherly Love when he plays the Hemlock this Thursday night, as Meg Baird and Earth Jerks support. Despite its projected eminence, the title "guitar virtuoso" isn't always a good thing – not when it conjures images of self-indulgent hard rock ax-men from decades past. But in the case of Philly's Chris Forsyth, the term registers with its intended effect.
