Taxes releasing ‘It Never Ends’, play shows at Slim’s and Bottom of the Hill (UPDATE: stream the whole album via Bandcamp)
It's pretty clear from the opening lines of Taxes’ press bio that frontman Robby Cronholm isn't interested in letting anything distract from the music – especially not something like, well, a bio. Hey, at least he's honest and has a wicked sense of humor to boot: Some bios are ironic and filled with lies. This one is not. Robby Cronholm has tried and, for the most part, loved the following forms of therapy: Hypnotherapy. Equine therapy. EST. Release technique. Aqua therapy. Raiki. Kundalini. Past-Life Regression. Sand Box Therapy. Art Therapy. Transcendental Meditation. Jungian. Freudian. Psychoanalytical. Acupuncture. Singing Bowls. Etc. And [...]

What's most surprising about this month's quality concert offerings, though, is how varied and plentiful they are beyond the festivals. Seriously, a lengthy list of Bay Bridged favorites [...]
Cash for Gold release ‘Swan Dive’, play Slim’s
Looking for even more proof that San Francisco's scene isn't dead? Look no further than Cash for Gold. Cash for Gold moves fast. Started on a whim in 2013 and put together, like, really not that long ago (by which we mean earlier this year), Cash for Gold have already crafted their first full-length, Swan Dive, set for release on October 14th on Breakup Records. A sloppy-fun ride that serves as a fitting soundtrack to C4G's home turf of the Tenderloin, Swan Dive is rich in exceptionally singable, '90s-rock-radio hooks, and minor-key verses that give way to upbeat choruses. Check [...]
Premiere: Cash For Gold releases video for “Out All The Time”
Local alternative rock band Cash For Gold are steadily building up anticipation for their forthcoming full-length, Swan Dive. The first product? A new video for their single, "Out All The Time," which is a heavy, rock anthem, with hints of indie-leaning melodies and other elements. The video shows scenes from an Old West type of scene -- old abandoned buildings, horses, and open fields -- and features the band performing their music in different parts of the area. Lead singer Jordan,, has a voice that is powerful, reminiscent of 90's/early 2000's alternative in a way that is definitely a change [...]
