If you wanna die, then Cosmonauts wanna die with you at Brick & Mortar this Saturday 6/16/12

Touring behind their new album, If You Wanna Die Then I Wanna Die, out now on Burger Records, LA's Cosmonauts are at the top of a psych-filled bill this Saturday at Brick and Mortar Music Hall. If you wanna check out for the night and hitch a ride on a drone ship to the outer regions of consciousness, this is your best bet. Or if you just wanna buy If You Wanna Die on vinyl direct from the band, you can do that too. Can't get a babysitter for the night? Understandable — all the psychedelic warrior moms and dads [...]

The Men touring, playing SF with Wax Idols and Burnt Ones

Buzzworthy New York post-punk quartet The Men are making their way to San Francisco this summer for a June 24th performance at Bottom of the Hill, with support from Bay Area locals Wax Idols and Burt Ones. Currently signed to Sacred Bones Records, The Men released their third full-length, Open Your Heart, to critical acclaim earlier this year. On this release, the band took a step forward from last year's Leave Home, with more emphasis on melodic accessibility in their bold, heavy songwriting. Listen to their new single "A Minor" below, featured on the label compilation Sacred Bones Presents: Todo [...]

Mikal Cronin headlining Milk Bar 6/1/12

San Francisco psych-garage rocker Mikal Cronin will headline the Milk Bar in San Francisco on Friday, June 1st. If you haven't seen the frequent Ty Segall collaborator perform on his own yet, now's your chance to enjoy Cronin's ear for blistering and catchy garage pop tunes. Burnt Ones and Permanent Collection will provide support. Personally, I thought his debut self-titled album was one of the best San Francisco releases in 2011. It's creative, upbeat rock that will leave you dizzy with satisfaction. Mikal Cronin, Burnt Ones, Permanent Collection Milk Bar SF June 1, 2012 9pm, $6

Burnt Ones – "Meet the Golden One" (Al Lover Remix)

Here's an interesting fusion: San Francisco garage rockers Burnt Ones have invited producer Al Lover to put his hip hop spin on their psychedelic lo-fi guitar pop track "Meet the Golden One." Lover adds a persistent hi-hat and extra reverb, turning the track into a genre-bending mix of fuzz, guitar rock, and some seriously nervous drum chattering. The Meet the Golden One 7" is out now.
