A guide to an interesting and cheap Saturday night in Oakland

There's always a ton of great music going on in Oakland, but Saturday night presents a somewhat unique opportunity to see no less than five different artists previously featured on The Bay Bridged at three different venues within walking distance of each other while spending less than ten dollars total to get through the doors. Born Petrifed – "Reaper" / "Townes Said"

Photo: Diana Mariscal Born Petrified is the one-man-band project of Oakland's Brendan Leonard, and has amassed a very nice collection of tracks over the years. Like most one-man-bands, he has a heavy blues tint, but his music also spends a lot of time hanging out in the area where folk songwriting meets punk and rockabilly rhythms.
