Blisses B host album release party at Bottom of the Hill

Blisses B is an upbeat, Americana indie pop band with a Dr. Dog vibe and a passion for positivity. On July 5, they release their album Tell your Friends You Love Them and Why (recorded at Oakland's Owl Sight Recorders) with a message that aims to do just that: fun and gentle reminders with a life-is-short theme throughout. Their first track, “Twin Geeks,” starts, “There is a time / It’s rolling by / So tell your friends you love them and why…” In a time where people are always on the move and there's a certain level of greediness is [...]

Blisses B release new music video for “Montevideo”

Groove/folk/psych rockers Blisses B have a new music video out for their fantastically catchy tune, "Montevideo." It's both a celebration of and lament for the San Francisco music scene — one that has seen bands move away and clubs shut down but also others that have survived despite the harsh economic climate of the city. The band revisits fallen stages like Red Devil Lounge and Kimo's, holding signs that say "In Remembrance," a feeling that certainly resonates with artists who have fond memories of playing or going to shows there. In the end, they arrive at Bottom of the Hill [...]

Blisses B begin Tuesday night residency at Amnesia in October

You know it's going to be an interesting evening when Blisses B begins their concert not up on the Amnesia stage, but on the dance floor — right behind you as you're ordering a Berryessa, the distinct acoustic jam of "Weapons Grade" seeping into your eardrums as the bartender counts out change. This was how the folk/alt-rock quartet began their month-long Tuesday night residency at the Mission-based bar. After a particularly energized rendition of rocker "Montevideo," the band announced that each week this October they will be performing one of their full-length albums in its entirety. Sorry for those of [...]

Blisses B oozes good vibes on new LP

Folk/psychedelic/alt-rock quartet Blisses B have a new LP out, one full of bouncy melodies, undaunted optimism, and dance-inducing rhythms. Entitled Sea Level Astronomy, the band was inspired by the realization of how seemingly limited perspectives, like an observatory placed at sea level, have the potential to achieve great things, like discovering a Jupiter-sized planet.  It is this belief in the overlooked power of perspective that drives the positive energy pulsating throughout the record. From the funky eponymous track to the laid back groove of "Weapons Grade," Blisses B guarantees that each song on the album will jangle around your brain for [...]
