Editors' Picks is a feature collecting music that we’ve been enjoying recently. Anna: I've hit play a few times on Painted Palms' Forever, always enjoying and finding the whole record to be a great uplifter for weary afternoons. Most recently, however, the album came up once again in my Rdio feed, and as I listened through, the hooks of "Not Really There" really dug in, and I haven't been able to stop listening since. The song has an incredibly infectious spirit, an almost glimmer-y quality, as it pops and echoes and comes back again in its circular, easygoing melody. Forever [...]

Blank Realm's psych pop to take over the Hemlock, 6/1/13

Indie darlings from down under, Blank Realm, will bring their laid-back psych-pop to the Hemlock Tavern this Saturday. The Brisbane natives released their latest album, Go Easy on Fire Records in early May. This band has been playing together for five years and literally bonded by blood--the group consist of three siblings. They have been steadily making their mark on the ever-growing underground Australian indie scene by putting out release after release.
