Ms. Freedia Ross, who goes by Big Freedia in the Big Easy's sissy bounce scene, is genetically a male with a flamboyant style who commands feminine pronouns, which shouldn't even be all that remarkable except that in 2012 hip hop is still largely a misogynistic boys' club; the fact that she is trail-blazing through the Deep South, no less, is nothing short of kick-ass.
