Big Eagle - "Anywhere the Wind Blows" Known musically as Big Eagle, Robyn Miller just released her first album, Willow Creek. Recording in Oakland with local whiz Bart Davenport and in Echo Park with Dan Horne (Beachwood Sparks, Music Go Music), Humboldt-raised Miller has been floating around for a while -- opening for Bonnie "Prince" Billy and others -- before finally releasing her debut collection of folk-rock tunes. This past Monday, Don Quixote's in Felton was lucky enough to host the one and only Bonnie 'Prince' Billy on his latest tour off the beaten path. As with Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, Bonnie was joined by The Cairo Gang, and they sound like they have been playing together forever. The guitarist, Emmett Kelly, was particularly at home and brought some amazing Crazy Horse solos. Bonnie's voice sounded better than ever in the small, well-equipped room. Devotionals and Big Eagle open for Futurebirds, 9/7/10 at the Rickshaw

Tonight (Tuesday) at the Rickshaw Stop, 9/7/10, some low-key music will help us nurse our sunburns and ease us back into reality after the Labor Day festivities. Ears of the Beholder and Aquarium Drunkard have paired up to present locals Devotionals (feature podcast) and Big Eagle as they open for Georgia's Futurebirds. Devotionals - "Chest Like Expansive Wings" Futurebirds - "Johnny Utah" The show starts at 8:00 pm and costs $12.
