The Ferocious Few to play free show for The Neighborhood (RSVP details here)

On April 12th, San Francisco rock and roll trio the The Ferocious Few will deliver a special performance for TheNeighborhood.TV, presented by Audyssey and Noise Pop. K. Flay returns to the Bay Area for Popscene on 4/5/12

K. Flay will return to the Bay Area (she left us for Brooklyn last year) to perform at Popscene at the Rickshaw Stop on April 5th with usual DJ sets from Live 105's Aaron Axelsen and Miles the DJ. It has been quite the busy year so far for K. Flay. Earlier this year the female MC released her new EP Eyes Shut through Spin, which you can also download for free at her website. James & Evander – "Ambigamy" + free show at Brick and Mortar tonight

Photo by: Nicole L. Browner James & Evander have released a new track "Ambigamy" which will appear on their forthcoming debut LP Bummer Pop out May 15th through Velvet Blue Music. The Oakland electro-pop duo also plan to release "Ambigamy" as a three track single on April 6th. James & Evander play a free show TONIGHT at Brick and Mortar, which is part of the Wood Shoppe series on the first Tuesday of each month.

Sleepy Sun offers 'Spine Hits' a week early at Amoeba SF on 4/3/12

Sleepy Sun will release their third full length album, Spine Hits, on April 10th through Brooklyn label The End Records. Before that, though, the group has announced a special free in-store performance at Amoeba SF on April 3rd, where they'll allow fans to purchase the album a week before its release. Spine Hits was recorded under the skies of the Joshua Tree desert with producer Dave Catching, formerly of Queens of the Stone Age and Eagles of Death Metal. San Diego's Mrs. Magician playing three SF shows, releasing John Reis-produced album

San Diego-based rock and roll group Mrs. Magician will be playing three shows in San Francisco at the end of the month and in early April, promoting their new album Strange Heaven, which is already available digitally and will be released physically on April 17th through Swami Records. Strange Heaven was produced by John Reis (Rocket From the Crypt, Drive Like Jehu, Hot Snakes), and Mrs. Magician has been described as a "Southern California dream gone awry" in the way they fuse melodies reminiscent of the Beach Boys with 70s and 80s punk humor. Oakland's Disappearing People release 'Dissolve'

Disappearing People are a new two-piece lo-fi group out of Oakland comprised of drummer Landon Monroe Bates and vocalist/guitarist Scott Travis Johnston (Moccretro). The duo have just put out their first cassette release Dissolve which was self-recorded and then mastered by Greg Ashley (of Gris Gris). The six-song release is full of lengthy lo-fi psych tracks with whirling reverberated vocals over dark, grungy and hazy guitars and loops. The band will be playing a free show with The Night Game Cult (Portland)  and Brian Glaze on March 18th at Vitus in Oakland. The show is 21+.
