New Banner Artist: Jaclyn Hughes

We are pleased to unveil our new banner artist, Jaclyn Hughes! In her own words: I am a native Delawarean, a chai tea connoisseur, and a design enthusiast. I have a mediocre sense of humor and an almost reasonable affection for bunnies. We are thrilled to showcase her work at the top of our site for the next few weeks. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do. To check out more of her work head to JaclynDina.com

Live This Month: April 2012 — an audio guide through SF concerts this month (Podcast #276)

Live This Month: April 2012 — an audio guide through SF concerts this month (Podcast #276) In Live This Month, we sample some of the great local and out-of-town bands performing in the coming month in the San Francisco Bay Area. In curating this podcast, we got the nagging feeling that April is a little slow on the local album release front. We're not sure why that is -- Festival fatigue? Buildup for a big summer? -- but it's likely only a momentary blip. A number of exciting new Bay Area records are coming soon, and we're especially psyched about [...]

Today: MOG Party featuring Bob Mould, The Roots and more!

Hey South by Southwesters, the good folks at MOG are throwing a really terrific-looking party today at the Mohawk, featuring a co-headlining performance by SF's own Bob Mould. As he did at Noise Pop recently, Mould will be performing Sugar's Copper Blue in its entirety; given the recent announcement that he's signed to Merge Records, maybe there will be some new songs too. Locals Howlin Rain and NY-via-SF's K. Flay are also on the ticket, along with some big names you may have heard of like, um, The Roots, Blitzen Trapper, and The War on Drugs. See you there! This [...]

If you are headed down to Texas this week, Do415 has compiled this handy list of Bay Area bands performing in Austin, and we've collected here a list of ten free parties we're quite excited about. Click on each of the flyers for more details about the event. (Also, even though we couldn't find a flyer for the And So... party, the lineup [...]

Live This Month: March 2012 — an audio guide through SF concerts this month (Podcast #274)

Live This Month: March 2012 — an audio guide through SF concerts this month (Podcast #274) In Live This Month, we sample some of the great local and out-of-town bands performing in the coming month in the San Francisco Bay Area. The annual insanity of South by Southwest means that a ton of artists are touring right now, and plenty of performers will be in SF in March en route to or returning from Austin. But while most of the acts included in this episode will be doing one or a dozen shows in bars and parking lots around the [...]
