Remember Rob and Making Ways?
Rob Goodman is a local artist and music fan (and a former writer of ours, and someone who still occasionally lends us his artistic talents). In addition to the day jobs we all have here at TBB, his side projects have often revolved around music — namely a robust library of concert posters.
For a while, we were helping get the word out about his podcast, Making Ways, which covers “the intersection of art and music” — previous guests include industrial designers, children’s book illustrators, and musicians like Heather D’Angelo of Au Revoir Simone. Like all of us for the last year, Rob’s had some more time on his hands, which is what I’m assuming spurred a return to the mic.
In this season of Making Ways, he talks to the artist (musical) and the artist (visual) that created a piece of art for the musician, be it an album cover, poster, or piece of merchandise. On the schedule for this season are a number of TBB favorites like Shamir, Ra Ra Riot, Sad13, Deafheaven, and Hazel English. Listen below.
So follow along as Rob once again explores the link between music, the art that inspires it, and vice versa. The first new episode, with Matthew Caws of Nada Surf and album artist Melissa Unger, debuts today.
