Kat Robichaud returns with a startling piano ballad, “Scare The Night Away”, just in time for Circus, the latest iteration of the Misfit Cabaret at San Francisco’s Alcazar Theater on February 7, 8, 14, and 15.
On the one hand, “Scare the Night Away” is about the metaphorical monster under our bed,” Robichaud explains. But is also an ode “to people we have lost and miss,” and its lyrics find Robichaud channeling the power of a loved one’s memory to get through difficult times.
And then there’s Kat Robichaud’s Misfit Cabaret Presents: Circus. The show features drag performance, contortion artists, aerialists, and of course music – original songs and covers as well, all brought together under the (literal? figurative?) circus tent of the show’s festival theme. I had the pleasure of catching Misfit Cabaret’s Adventure Show, an eclectic spectacle that embraced drama and camp with equal measure.
Expect robust servings of pop culture shtick, dazzling physical choreography, live music, and at least one sing-along at the Misfit Cabaret this February.
