Though you wouldn’t know it from this pleasant-to-warm weather we’ve been having lately, yes, it is. As has been tradition for many years now, longtime local label Tricycle Records is preparing a compilation of the best in Bay Area music, and this year it has a special theme.
Babes of the Bay focuses — you guessed it — on female and female-identifying artists from our community. Produced in conjunction with the Women’s International Music Network, this year’s comp is being organized in the hopes of creating space for women musicians, technicians, and others in the music industry.
Think you’ve got what it takes? Submit your music here before October 14. Even if you don’t think you have what it takes, you should still submit. As the Internet adage says, carry yourself with the confidence of a mediocre man.
