The Swedish American Hall was packed, sweaty and country hoe-down ready for Orville Peck, who dazzled with tassels and ballads tinged with ’80s Dead or Alive vocal velocity. Orville Peck delivers psychedelic country rock with a delicious twist.

Oakland’s own Dick Stusso gave support, serenading the sold-out show of a crowd with raw, gritty rock and roll distortion-dream vibes, mixed with Fifties-style love ballads and laid-back, fuzzy-field-feels of a time gone by.

Orville Peck’s debut album, Pony, is out now and in high demand, as witnessed from the long line waiting to pick it up at the show.
