Temperatures are looking downright pleasant (a balmy 71!) for this Saturday’s 20th Street Block Party.
For the last six years, our friends Noise Pop have been celebrating their home with a summer celebration on 20th street, showcasing the local bands and culture they champion throughout the year. While our friend Karl will provide protection from the harshest heat this year, the lineup comes in hot yet again with Alex Cameron and Roy Molloy, Speedy Ortiz, Sasami, and Hello Yello rocking the main stage. A selection of locals, curated by DoTheBay, will provide support. And because you can’t throw a music festival in the Bay Area anymore without top-tier food offerings, Humphry Slocombe, Farmhouse Kitchen, Mission Boricua and more will be on hand to satisfy pretty much any hankering you may have.
As in years past, the Block Party benefits local causes: This year it’s La Cocina, a local nonprofit that distributes opportunities in restaurateuring for women and people of color, and San Francisco charitable institution 826 Valencia.
Long story short is there’s really no reason not to come to the Mission this Saturday. Don’t forget your sunscreen.
