If you needed some good news this week, here it is: Bay Area-based singer/songwriter Lisa Azzolino‘s new song “Hey You” is an honest-to-goodness love song. Not a dirge detailing unrequited love, or a reflection of love’s complexities and misadventures, but an ode to falling in love, plain and simple.
Pair this open-hearted tale with warm instrumentation that calls to mind the sounds of late ’60s/early ’70s AM radio pop, and you’ve got an idea of what to expect at her single release party on Thursday June 13.
“I wanted to create an uplifting love song for those who thought they wouldn’t find love, but did. In a way, you could say ‘Hey You’ is my version of ‘I’m a Believer’ by the Monkees,” says Azzolino.
Well, there’s not a trace of doubt in my mind that you won’t press play on that orange button right below. Do it, and you just might do a little believing yourself.
