Remember Smokin’ Ziggurats? Established by members of Social Studies (remember them?), Smokin’ Zigurrats lean into more garage-influenced styles, and they’re coming back soon with a new record, Face the Jazz. You can hear the whole thing here.
Today, they’re sharing the record’s first single, “Boysenberry Mind,” with us. Follow them on a nonsensical, seemingly drug-fueled journey through San Francisco, and look out for a lot of visual references to the zigurrat itself.

They’re officially debuting Face the Jazz this Thursday at Bottom of the Hill with K. Skelton and Al Harper Band. He plays on a couple Face the Jazz tracks too, but head back to the end of 2017 for a listen of K. Skelton’s solo work.
