Cherry Glazerr has been touring North America since releasing their album in February, wrapping up the West Coast leg of their tour before heading out to Europe. Stuffed and Ready follows the band’s 2017 Secretly Canadian debut, Apocalypstick. The release came with new videos for lead single “Daddi” (directed by Danny Cole), and “Wasted Nun” (directed by Jessica Collins).
Stuffed and Ready finds Cherry Glazerr’s founding guitarist and vocalist Clementine Creevy at her most introspective. “I am telling my story of how I feel and where I am in life,” Creevy says in a statement released with the album. “I’m exploring my own self-doubt. I’m confused about what happiness is and I’m searching for my place in the world. With Apocalipstick, I was an over-confident teenager trying to solve the world’s problems. With Stuffed & Ready, I’m a much more weary and perhaps cynical woman who believes you need to figure your own self out first.”
Creevy’s bandmates Tabor Allen and Devin O’Brien with join her for the headlining set at the Independent on Sunday. Clearly fans have been digging the new album, as the show has just recently sold out.
Palehound, the New York-based project fronted by singer-songwriter Ellen Kempner, will open the show. Listen to Palehound’s new single “Killer” via Bandcamp.
