Since 1995, Bay Area punk rock quartet American Steel has been smelting hardcore, British punk, Irish folk, Motown, and everything in between into what is now simply referred to as Bay Area punk rock. And like their moniker suggests, American Steel might live forever. Just when you thought they were gone…having finally yielded to the furnace or flood, or simply ravaged into oblivion by the merciless onslaught of time herself; they emerge. Stronger than before, their wills forged from the punishing fire, their volcanic breath primed to incinerate every inch of rust and decay between the now and the then.
