Connan Mockasin will premiere his first publicly-released film Bostyn ’n Dobsyn and third record Jassbusters at San Francisco’s Castro Theatre on Monday, October 15. Twenty years in development, Bostyn ’n Dobsyn is a five-part melodrama film that is intended to be watched before listening to Jassbusters. The record was recorded with a full band shortly after filming. The concept for these complementary works follows the story of a fictional music teacher, Bostyn (played by Connan Mockasin), and his student, Dobson (played by Blake Pryor). Jassbusters was just released on October 12 via Mexican Summer.
