You might have heard recently that, for the first time in a number of years, ’00s indie star Conor Oberst is not — we repeat, NOT — playing Hardly Strictly Bluegrass this year.
But fear not! You won’t have to go through 2018 without your annual Oberst fix. On the very same weekend of this year’s festival, Oberst is playing the revered Fillmore for show with his longtime band the Mystic Valley Band behind him, as part of their tour of the West.
For those who were too young or too old to absorb new music in the early aughts: Conor Oberst is the songwriter behind Bright Eyes, a classic act from the days of Garden State-style indie rock. As part of a spate of soft-spoken, soft-strummed singer-songwriters that ruled college dormitory halls around that time, Oberst has stood the test of time as a celebrated songwriter who hasn’t lost his grip on his devoted fanbase.
And you might be able to get another year of seeing him for free. We’ve got a pair of tickets to give away to his Fillmore show. Enter for your chance to see Conor Oberst without the crowds.
To enter for a chance to win tickets to see Conor Oberst at the Fillmore, email contest@thebaybridged.com with “Conor Oberst” in the subject line and your full name in the body of the email. A winner will be selected at random and notified via email.
