Philadelphia folk-rock four-piece Hop Along are finally bringing their headlining tour to San Francisco this week, supporting their third studio record, Bark Your Head Off, Dog. Hop Along will perform at Great American Music Hall with support from Philly tour-mates Thin Lips.
Hop Along began as an acoustic solo project of Frances Quinlan. After years of developing her songwriting craft, she decided to expand the project into a full rock band and shorten its name from Hop Along, Queen Ansleis. Seeking a fuller sound, Frances’ brother Mark Quinlan joined the band followed by Tyler Long and Joe Reinhart.
While equally impressive, Bark Your Head Off, Dog sounds a bit more polished and complex than 2015’s comparatively raw and cathartic full-length Pained Shut. Watch the new video for Hop Along’s emotional single “How Simple” below.
Tickets for this tour seem to be going pretty fast, so grab tickets from Eventbrite or hop on over to the Great American Music Hall box office before Wednesday to skip out on service fees.
