When D.J. Williams isn’t performing with Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, he has his own jazz/rock/funk project, Shots Fired, and a recently released album, Live From Over Where, that bottles some of the band’s best performances.

With a rotating group of ace musicians attracted to D.J. Williams’ flame, one Shots Fired show may not be quite the same as the next, but it’s sure to include some funky jams to have the room dancing into the night.  In addition to D.J.’s guitar, the show at the Boom Boom Room included keys, drums, bass, and additional lead vocals.

San Francisco electro-funk band the Crooked Stuff got things started on Saturday, playing tracks from their recently released EP In The Blood Vol. 1. A force led by Tom Gorton, this group’s rise within the Bay Area music scene has been impressive.
