New Orleans’ swing-infused indie soul band Bon Bon Vivant is in full swing on a West Coast run, with a pair of dates coming up in Santa Cruz.
Tonight, May 30 at The Crepe Place, the five-piece group will serve up gypsy jazz with a twist alongside local guitarist Justin Hambly and his band, the Heavy Hand. The following day, on Thursday, May 31, Bon Bon Vivant teams up with singer-songwriter Lauren Wahl & Simply Put for an evening at Michael’s on Main in Soquel.
Bon Bon Vivant recently released their first live album in April of this year. Recorded last November, Live at the New Orleans Jazz Museum showcases several originals alongside classic jazz standards. Live is the band’s second full length and first release by the newly founded Gallatin Street Records.
