Yet another stacked lineup comes to The UC Theatre on Wednesday, May 23.
The Wonder Years, a six-piece band that hails from Philadelphia, have been at the forefront of American pop-punk music for the past 10+ years. Since the group’s formation in 2005, the Wonder Years have consistently put out hard-hitting collections of songs that have attracted fans and critics alike. The band’s latest project, the recently-released Sister Cities, continues the band’s trajectory into new musical terrain, all while maintaining their trademark blend of energetic, nostalgic, and emotional rock and roll. In addition, it’s an urgent piece of music that aptly suits the times we’re in. As the band members themselves put it, this album “was written with the world on fire and all of the songs sound like they are trying to build you a bridge from somewhere bad to somewhere better.”
Along with the Wonder Years, this tour also features a stellar lineup of Tigers Jaw, Tiny Moving Parts, and Worriers. These opening bands consist of some of the most promising young acts in the genre — be sure to show up early to this one.
