Con Brio

San Francisco soul band Con Brio is known for a lot of things, but emulating the crunchy riffs of the Pacific Northwest in the early ’90s is not really one of them. Even still, yesterday they premiered an inventive cover of Nirvana’s grunge classic “Heart-Shaped Box,” reinterpreted in the most Con Brio of ways — sultry, electric, and overflowing with passion.

But does it…work?

Oh, it does. It so does.

Take a listen below to Con Brio’s mind-expanding version of “Heart-Shaped Box” below, then go see them at the Fillmore tomorrow night.
