Independent May 2018

Dolores hangs, A’s games, and numerous other opportunities to drink beer outdoors: After months and months (and months) of rain, spring has finally made her grand entrance to the Bay.

Nowhere is that more apparent than at the Independent next month. Though festival season is revving its engine and summer tours are starting to roll out, the Indy’s May schedule is bringing the heat with an exciting array of acts that will invigorate and energize you — you might not have to leave home to see some of the best shows you’ll see all year.

The Divisadero Street venue has some major players lined up for the month of May. On the singer-songwriter end of the spectrum is Lissie, a veteran musician whose pop chops are paired with serious attitude. Next up, local legends Rogue Wave recently re-released their 2007 record Asleep at Heaven’s Gate will be playing the album in its entirety. Ezra Furman and Sweet Plot will be bringing the party! Furman released the critically acclaimed Transangelic Exodus in February, and Sweet Plot are prepping some new songs just for the occasion.

Who, where, and when are listed below. And this isn’t even everything the Indy has going in May — this is just the highlight reel. See the full schedule at theindependentsf.com.
