A smattering of singles, monthly showcases and the continuous scooping of local talent for their collection, Text Me Records has been the imprint to watch for 2018. True to form, the brand stays strong with its first full-fledged drop dubbed Bang My Line, a Valentine’s Day compilation mixtape of sensual moods and grooves for this annual day of love (and heartache).

The featured artists are as diverse as the music itself, calling on Text Me fam and affiliates like Houston hero Fat Tony, NFL-player-turned-sanger William Robert, the super-sultry Lip Set (made up of Felicia Douglas of Ava Luna and Patrick Brown), and the happy-go-lucky pop sways of Social Work. Our favorites include a Steve Lacy cover by Oakland’s punchy Big Baby Gandhi (“C U Girl”), a modern-day ballad from Alexandria (“Off Guard”), and a tender, lush remix of “Can Oui” with Rexx Life Raj, Donna Missal, and Portland’s Last Artful Dodgr.

Whether you sending sending flowers, a heart emoji, or the infamous 2 am “u up?” text, lines will be bangin.’
