In Live This Month, we sample some of the great local and out-of-town bands performing in the coming month in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Among this month’s highlights are two of San Francisco’s most buzzed-about acts, The She’s and Giraffage, both of whom just released long-awaited new albums. The new set from The She’s, “all female rock and roll quartet”, is the quartet’s first LP in six years, and it reveals the band’s growth as songwriters while still packing a ton of melodic punch.
Charlie Yin’s first Giraffage full length, Too Real, showcases Yin’s skill at creating rich electronic productions that pair well with guest vocalists like Japanese Breakfast. We’ve also included in this month’s mix new music from the Bay’s Culture Abuse and War Cloud, as well as Nevada City’s Angelica Rockne.
If you’re looking for indie-pop, longtime veterans The Clientele and Shout Out Louds are touring behind new albums. On the noisier side of things, be sure to check out Flat Worms, the newest band on the always-reliable Castle Face Records.
Founded in 2006, The Bay Bridged is a 501(c)3 nonprofit arts organization utilizing new media and presenting live events to support the San Francisco Bay Area’s indie rock, folk, and pop music communities.
