We’ve been hard at work with our friends at Imprint.City putting together the 2nd annual BayviewLIVE, a celebration of San Francisco’s oft-overlooked eastern neighborhoods — and its bright future.
It’s not secret that the Bayview and neighboring Hunter’s Point aren’t the most heavily-trafficked areas of SF. It’s also no secret that San Franciscans are often loath to travel beyond their own neighborhood’s borders. BayviewLIVE is designed to change all that, luring folks from all over the city to experience the warmth and vibrancy of the Bayview community with a free street festival. BayviewLIVE will feature the usual street-fair fixtures like food, art, and activities for kids. But its secret weapon lies in live music: We’ve helped them curate this year’s lineup, featuring Sh8peshifter (better know to TBB readers as Zakiya Harris, Nef the Pharaoh, Talib Kweli, and more.
BayviewLIVE is presented by Imprint.City, a nonprofit dedicated to bringing educational and economic opportunities to the Bayview and other, less trendy, generally underserved neighborhoods. This year, the festival is leaning into its stated goal as a merging of art and technology, with sponsorships from local tech giants like Airbnb, Spotify, and Facebook supporting this one-of-a-kind festival.
It all starts at noon and is easily accessible via the T line — and did we mention it’s free with registration? So come on out to the Bayview and contribute to this community’s financial and artistic well-being.
