Do you feel it?
That nip in the air. That morning fog. That whisper of winter. Coats are being moved to the front of the closet. Suddenly, hot beverages don’t sound like such a bad idea.
Fall is making its slow entrance to San Francisco.
Summer’s ending, and that’s sad. But with it never has to go away with Dent May, mastermind behind the saddest beach jam you’ve ever heard.
The Mississippi(!)-born songwriter has stuck to off-kilter electro jams and bouncy, time-capsule pop tunes in the past. His most recent effort, however, takes a turn for the utterly depressed, containing strong notes of Brian Wilson’s recluse years. Take a long drag of his latest single, “90210,” and try and tell me your brain didn’t instinctively fill in the quieter parts with the sound of crashing waves.
His new album, Across the Multiverse, is out on the 18th via the venerable Carpark Records (and includes a duet with staff fave Frankie Cosmos). Enter to win the chance to bid summer adieu with Dent May at Rickshaw Stop at the end of the month. He’ll be playing with other staff faves Madeline Kenney and Emotional. You can bet that at least someone in the Bay Bridged employ will be there.
To enter for a chance to win tickets to see Dent May at Rickshaw Stop on August 23, email contest@thebaybridged.com with “Dent May” in the subject line and your full name in the body of the email. A winner will be selected at random and notified via email.
