Siri headlines Local Sirens(photo: Colin Hoefle)

San Francisco non-profit Local Sirens, bringing in female musicians and performers from its neighboring areas and shining a spotlight on the homegrown talent seeping from the Bay Area. For this series, Oakland rapper Siri drops in as the headliner, along with fellow acts multi-faceted Ah-Mer-Ah-Su, singer/songwriter Summi and LA-by-way-of-SF DJ, Arumi.

The daughter of Hieroglyphics rapper Tajai, music and creating art runs through Siri’s veins but that never dictated her style or her sound. Her chilly rap-singing over lo-fi beats can be glossy at some times, ethereal and otherworldly the next. Music may be her main language, but Siri is a creative spirit from head to toe and that shows in her creative endeavors with Le Vanguard and her street-savvy, chic ensembles.
