Though his music isn’t necessarily crafted with the live show in mind, Mura Masa‘s one-man performance is hypnotizing. Save for a few songs with go-to musical-partner-in-crime Bonzai, the UK producer-singer-writer (add “beat slayer, heart breaker…lover” to that mix, according to his SoundCloud) recreates his beats from the ground up, neatly assembling an array of delicate melodies, driving synths and thunderous drums that is as infectious as it is catchy.
Other artists have caught on to Mura Masa’s multi-faceted sound. Rappers A$AP Rocky, Desiigner and fellow Brit Jay Prince have contributed verses, while singers such as NAO, Denai Moore, and Jamie Lidell add a vocal layer onto the mix. He continues to collaborate with artists from across the globe with his debut self-titled album scheduled to be released later this month.
