Burger Boogaloo is right around the corner and the punks are ready to party. This year’s festival is bigger than ever: With John Waters playing host, headliners Iggy Pop and Buzzcocks round out a killer lineup including X, Shannon and the Clams, Nobunny, Redd Kross, Guitar Wolf, and lots more.

However, real Burger Heads know that the weekend’s festivities always begin and end well beyond the confines of Oakland’s Mosswood Park. For the evening crowd who can’t get enough of the daytime debauchery, Eli’s Mile High Club and Starline Social Club will be hosting officially sanctioned Burger Boogaloo showcases on the nights of June 30, July 1, and July 2.

Pick your poison between the two Friday night kickoff parties: Eli’s has booked Control Freaks and Knights Of The Trash while Starline Social Club will host Resonars, BT’s, Heartlights, Damaged Era, and Valley Boy. Saturday night brings Rikk Agnew, Mind Meld, White Night, and Issac Rother & The Phantoms to Eli’s, or if you prefer, check out Danny James, Eugene Chadbourne, The Band Ice Cream, and Cowgirl Clue at Starline Social Club. Sunday closes out with Apache, Sam Flax, Sarah Bethe Nelson, and Friendless Summer at Eli’s, or head over to Starline and get weird with Psycotic Pineapple, Little Roger & the Goosebumps , and The Blind Owls.

If you’ve been keeping track you’ll notice that’s a shitload of guitars — earplugs are your friend. Doors open at 8pm with a $5 cover charge at Eli’s Mile High Club, and $8-10 for Starline Social Club. If it helps to sway your decisions, note that Eli’s Mile High Club is 21+, while Starline is all ages.
