Little Hurricane at The Stache by Joshua Huver 1 copy

Hailing from San Diego, the infectious blues styling of the duo Little Hurricane finds itself with the third of three Bay Area performances since BottleRock Napa as they support their latest release, Same Sun Same Moon.

Little Hurricane’s tour takes them back down around the southwestern United States, through Texas and into Louisville and Nashville before they return to San Francisco proper for a headlining performance at the Independent on Saturday, July 8.

Check out the latest single from Same Sun Same Moon, their third LP since forming eight years ago, “Isn’t It Great,” below:

Little Hurricane is a California band that means a lot to me — before moving to Santa Cruz from Michigan, my first visit to CA was in May 2013. I didn’t care who was playing — I made it my mission to catch a show at the Fillmore the night I landed in SF, and Little Hurricane was the first band that I ever saw on that stage. I was mesmerized for several reasons, but the direct punch of their groove stayed with me and I was even lucky enough to catch them in my hometown of Grand Rapids a month before setting out for CA.

Although the duo does not take up much physical space on stage, they are masters at filling the room with sound, draw heavily on the emotive weight that their stripped-down and calculated tunes are born from. With three chances to catch them in the area, I can’t recommend Little Hurricane enough.
