First discovered by Los Angeles sound collection Soulection, London’s Tom Misch has carved out a nice niche for himself. His intricate, soul-driven productions such as “Watch Me Dance” and “I Wish” have made him popular as a creator of feel-good vibes, but his musicianship sets him apart from the flurry of new-school beat producers.
Several of his projects —Reverie EP, Beat Tape 2, his Out to Sea EP with singer Carmody, his Soulection “White Label” project” and his latest 5 Day Mischon — feature multiple layers of analog and live sounds right alongside up-and-coming (some of whom would later become artists in their own right) vocalists such as Jordan Rakei, Zak Abel, and Illa J. Though his 1015 performance is only a DJ set, expect to hear his favorite cuts and stellar remixes of Lianne La Havas’ “What You Won’t Do”, Slum Village’s “Get Dis Money” and Amy Winehouse’s “Rehab” and more.
