New project Oliver Tree seems to have so many influences, yet he somehow seamlessly combines them all on his debut tracks, “Welcome to LA” and “All I Got.” The tracks have layered, distorted vocals, acoustic guitar, hard hitting beats, and atmospheric synths. He raps, sings, and produces the tracks with his friend Whethan, who has worked with Charli XCX most recently. One of the tracks even has a trumpet solo.

Oliver Tree is set to play Lollapalooza in Chicago and Outside Lands in San Francisco this year, and these tracks are sure to make for a raucous time. His obvious production skill and unique voice seem aimed at greater success. It is hard to put him in any one genre or box. Oliver Tree is one to watch.
