Aimee Mann turned her sad songs into a good time at the Fillmore last Friday, playing tracks from her newest album Mental Illness as well as fan favorites from previous albums.
Jonathan Coulton, who co-wrote part of Mann’s new album, opened the evening with his quirky yet catchy songs about squids, the internet, and artificial intelligence. Coulton’s latest album, Solid State, is accompanied by a graphic novel and is out now on Aimee Mann’s own SuperEgo Records.
