The firecracker of emotion from the Pacific Northwest known as Modest Mouse has announced a brief Northern California tour stint to take place over Memorial Day weekend.
Following the start of the tour with a pair of shows in Spokane and Eugene, frontman and primary antagonist Isaac Brock and crew will headline Friday night of Bottle Rock Music Festival (May 26) in Napa Valley before heading down to The Masonic in San Francisco on Saturday, May 27.
Although Modest Mouse loves to dance around the Bay, playing Shoreline in 2015 and co-headlining The Greek in Berkeley with Brand New last summer, the last time the band played city of San Francisco proper was in 2014 and also at The Masonic. With their first new album in eight years under their belts, titled Strangers To Ourselves, Modest Mouse appears to have a rejuvenated energy.
To get a taste of the polish that the band’s increased focus and dedication has resulted in, check out this video for “The Ground Walks, with Time in a Box” from the new album:
Hopefully these summer tour dates will be enough for the casual fan to forget about the follow up to Strangers To Ourselves that Brock promised for release in 2016, but Whabever.
