Having last swung through the city back in June for a collaborative tour with Jherek Bischoff, Mirah will return to a larger (and potentially more haunted) room in The Chapel.

I feel it is completely appropriate to assume you are still listening to Changing Light; Mirah’s latest record from 2014. At the very least, you’ve planted about three songs from the album onto one of your “Do Not Listen ‘Til Nightfall” playlists. If you dig further back, you’ll find her combined solo and shared catalog is well into the double-digits.

Back in October, the Brooklyn-based songwriter added her name to the 50+ list of musicians that released music through 30 Days, 30 Songs. Her protest song, “No Guns No Guns” jumps straight to the feelings of being sick of violence, injustice, and hate, and is punctuated with a sound bite from New York City Council Member Jumaane D. Williams.

Spacey R&B sounds will be delivered by Oakland trio Meernaa. There’s only a pair of their singles in the world so far, so show up early to be the first to hear what else is on the way. One-man band Lonesome Leash, also a Brooklynite, will round out the evening and is planned to accompany Mirah and Co. during the their set as well.

To enter for a chance to win tickets to see Mirah at The Chapel on January 11, email with “Mirah” in the subject line and your full name in the body of the email. A winner will be selected at random and notified via email.
