Christian Zamora started bAd bAd a few years ago as a bedroom recording project, (and one that we’ve loved from the start). Despite the fact that Zamora’s left the Bay Area to manage a bar in St. Kitt’s for the past six months, bAd bAd managed to record their first LP as a full band that has just been released via SS Records. To celebrate, Zamora is taking a Thanksgiving vacation on the (American) West Coast to share the album in its live form and sling some vinyl along the way. bAd bAd originally dubbed their sound as “Turkish surf mariachi”, and although the sound has evolved, the spirit of colliding cultures and relentless rhythms thankfully remain. A sampler from the self-titled LP is below.

In addition to dates in Portland, Vancouver, and Seattle, bAd bAd performs for their hometown tonight at the Eagle with Andy Human, tour mates Turquoiz Noiz, and STUCKO.
