The Sam Chase
San Francisco’s raucous Americana rock and roll outfit The Sam Chase and the Untraditional are celebrating the advent of an East Coast tour this month by releasing a new music video just in time to send them off with a boost.

The song, “Great White Noise” is the title track of the album that was released in April of this year. According to Chase’s camp, “it is

[a] sarcastic jab at the status quo and an unapologetic look at the societal effects of the constant bombardment of information that we have to wade through as a culture. Judging by the subject matter, Sam is clearly does not look upon this favorably.”

The title is a heavy and multi-faceted cavern of meaning. The ‘Great White Noise,’ according to the band’s press release, refers to “all of the voices at once, screaming at the tops of their lungs. It’s every frequency at top volume. It is the constant stream of auditory bullshit from soapbox messiahs, corporate mouthpieces, apocalyptic fear mongers, plastic smiling partisan political hacks, and the uneducated millions who try to hang onto the few scraps thrown to them from the table of power. It is the roar of all of those voices melting together into a thick unintelligible soup we are all wading through.” Check it out below.

The band’s next Bay Area date is the Mystic Theatre in Petaluma in November.
