Ja Rule and Ashanti are two artists that flow naturally together like the classic duos of their respective genres. They were collaborators throughout their illustrious careers; when not making hits on their own they teamed up for numerous ones over the years. They both made a stop at the Warfield to co-headline for what turned out to be a legendary show.
The place was packed, and even with new albums coming out by both artists in the near future, it was nothing but hits throughout the night, no fillers. The energy in the room never dipped and served as a reminder of just how many big songs by each singer has been blasted on the radio over the past two decades. They shared the stage — as one performer did a few songs, they passed the mic to the other, over and over. The night was full of nostalgia and positive energy from both the performers and the avid crowd alike.
Our photographer Robert Alleyne has these simply amazing photos from the night, with some great shots of both performers on their own, backup singers, the packed crowd, and the whole energy of the night. Check them out and enjoy.
